Norpak Handling have announced a major expansion in their shop facilities. Work will start in early October on the construction of 6000 sq. ft. of shop space. When completed, Norpak’s assembly area will total 10,000 sq. ft.
The company has always worked on a path leading to rapid growth but even this expansion has surprised company officials. “Our existing plant was only completed in 1997” reported shop supervisor Bill Capener. “Customers have taken full advantage of our ability to set up and test equipment before it leaves the shop floor” he said. He also attributed the demand for increased manufacturing area to the skill of its workers in providing custom designed special components and assemblies needed in systems.
Norpak was originally founded in 1990. It has twice appeared in the Top 100 list of Canada’s fastest growing companies as judged by Profit: The Magazine for Canadian Entrepreneurs. The company has also received recognition through the Chamber of Commerce business excellence programs. This latest expansion is expected to be completed in January 1999. Employment levels will further increase as the demand for the company’s products develop.
