Norpak Handling was established in April 1988 by experienced conveyor professionals from a major conveyor company. Founder Stewart Raynor was joined by Gamey Lycett and Gavin Linn shortly thereafter. Within months, Norpak had over 100 years of experience ranging from engineering and purchasing through to project management and organizational skills.
Adopting a customer-focused approach, the business grew rapidly to become the largest conveyor components and independent systems integrator in Canada as well as the only Canadian conveyor company with offices or distributors across Canada.
In 1997, Norpak built a new office and manufacturing facility in Port Hope. To keep up with business growth, the Port Hope location was expanded in 1998.
In 2000, Norpak became a Hytrol Conveyor Company Integration Partner (Distributor). This immediately provided Norpak with an expanded high-quality portfolio of conveyor systems and components to incorporate into more diverse conveyor projects.
Norpak also grew by acquisition. In 2000, Norpak purchased the conveyor division of BC Conveying Machinery Limited in British Columbia, increasing Norpak’s presence in Western Canada and the Western United States. In 2010 Norpak purchased McKessock Engineering Limited, further expanding the customer base.
Norpak has always remained committed to serving the needs of its customers both large and small.
From individual conveyor rollers, spare parts, and conveyor sections, to completely designed and installed complex conveying systems, Norpak continues to focus on providing customers with maximum value and world class customer service.
