Drive System

Furthermore, due to the ambient temperature, some conveyors might require a motor with higher horsepower for smooth functioning. All these factors must be considered when selecting a drive system.

Proper Lubrication

Lubrication needs to be highly specialized to match the cold conditions. This goes for bearings used in conveyor rollers, belts or chains. Moreover, the lubrication used in gear motors and reducers must also be able to withstand these low temperatures.

Addition Of Critical Fasteners

Using critical fasteners such as set screws used in bearings and sockets will be an excellent choice for these conditions. Although not necessary, torquing them when they reach the operating temperature will be highly beneficial.
