Wins 2001 Business Excellence Award
January 1, 2002

Norpak Handling Limited was recently honoured with the prestigious 2001 Excellence in Medium Business Award sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The award, presented at a gala ceremony on January 18th recognizes area businesses for their contribution to the local economy and community as a whole. Nominees are expected to strive for continual quality improvements in their products. They must make a difference to the quality of life of area residents. A company’s approach to solving everyday business problems must be innovative and demonstrate high standards of customer service.

Norpak was chosen for their significant achievements over the past year. The company received ISO9001:2000 certification in September- one of only a 100 companies in Canada to reach this new level of quality standard thus far. Sales almost tripled with the addition of high profile, record-breaking contracts in the postal/courier business sector. Norpak appeared again in Profit Magazine’s List of Canada’s fastest growing companies. The company gave generously in support of local charities, cultural events and children’s sporting activities with donations of both money and time.

Established in 1990, Norpak is Canada’s largest system integrator. The company’s reputation has been built on its ability to provide optimal solutions for customer’s conveyor requirements. Norpak provides excellence in supplier resources through teaming arrangements with companies in Canada, the United States, Australia and Europe. It then combines this with its staff’s extensive applications knowledge.

Norpak Handling is headquartered in Port Hope, Ontario with offices in Montreal and Vancouver plus a distributor network across Canada. This is the company’s third business excellence win in the last 5 years. Norpak received the first ever Excellence in Small Business Award in 1997 followed by another excellence award in the medium business category in 1999.
